| The Delta Shoal Wreck site contains the wreckage from several old wooden schooners or galleons. It lies between 2 coral fingers. The Ivory wreck is a slaving schooner that went down in 1853. Not much remains of this wreck, but many artifacts have been recovered, including leg irons, brass bowls, and elephant tusks, which gave her the name. |

| Dive Description | |
| Delta Shoal is a spur-and-groove coral reef, lying in shallow water. It is an excellent snorkeling reef. Its rather extensive coral fingers extend for over 1/2 mile. The best diving is on the scattered coral heads around the outside of the reef. Under the numerous ledges, spiny lobster are plentiful, as are the grunts, moray eels, and jacks. Nurse shark are frequent visitors. Divers should be warned that Delta Shoal has been designated a SPA area [Sanctuary Preservation Area] and fishing as well as lobstering are strictly prohibited. |
